Days of Summer

We have been taking full advantage of these hot hot summer days...sure, some have brought us some doozy storms, but we will take the couple hours of rain if it means more hours of sun and HEAT. It has been much like Florida around here lately, and that, we do not mind at all. Maw maw and paw paw's pool has been much relief.

Then last night Ben, Gabi and I enjoyed the evening watching the big fireworks display after Summerfest. We parked ourselves at Central Park, sat in the gravity chairs that Chad/Amber got us, each of us cuddled under a blanket so the mosquitos wouldn't get us and enjoyed the beautiful colors. A fun day indeed!

Yay Weekend!

I guess Mrs. Robin loved her nest enough to brood another round of babies...and just recently born actually (will try to post pics soon)
The boys are away (Trenton to help with the Wrestling Golf Outing at North Central and Tyler away at Option Camp - Taylor University) so I was able to clean out the cars and look what I found...a perfect saying for Tyler! I taped it up on his rearview mirror as a little reminder of his fortune cookie saying.
And we did some playing today also...a nice afternoon for a swim at maw maw and paw paws with cousins and friend, Lizzy. Loved this evening's Friday Night Lights! I am sooo hooked! So glad the weekend is here!

Tienes un amigo en mi

Went to see Toy Story 3 today with my parents, Gabi, Presley and Addison and LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Very cute movie! Hard to believe the first Toy Story was out in 1995...my Trenton was only 4 years old, Tyler was only 3 years old and here in Toy Story 3 Andy is getting ready to go to college...coincidence??? Loved Ken and Barbie and absolutely loved the spanish Buzz Lightyear ;) The movie made me laugh and made me cry, it was perfect! If ya haven't seen it, GO, my bets are you'll like it!

Father's Day Part 2

When we got home from camping we got everything put away and started the laundry, ordered a pizza and headed over to dad R's house to visit with him and take his gift. Got to visit with Pam/Jeff and family, a nice treat. Brennie had lots of fun having a dragon war with Trenton and Tyler, while little miss Leigh enjoyed everyone passing her around just loving her sweet chubiness. What a beautiful day for all the dads!

Father's Day Weekend

Our first and only planned camping trip was this weekend with my side of the family. We chose our favorite campground, Jellystone in Fremont, since we will not be able to do Christmas In July like we love to do each year (Chad and Amber have a vacation planned that weekend). The weather was iffy on Friday since it was very humid and storms were coming in. It was okay though because we had just finished eating our dinner and had plenty of time to buckle down the hatch while the storm came through. And it sure worked to our advantage because the rain came at around 8:30 pm and lasted only til around 10 pm. During that time Ben, Trenton, Tyler, Gabi and I sat in our camper and just played some poker, joked around, played Catch Phrase and waited. . .til we heard the pop can open outside our camper and a knock on the door. It was Chad and he was ready to start the fire up for some pudgy pies and s'mores! Had a good time sitting around the fire til midnight or so and headed in just in time for a bit more rain overnight.
Woke up Saturday morning to some sunshine and some visitors - my parents, and Abby. Went to picture time with Yogi and Amber and I took the kiddos to craft hour to make a little something for the daddys. While we were there, the men entered a horseshoe tournament where Ben and Trenton actually got fourth place! Not bad...By this time, the sun was heating things up so we headed out to the pool, played some volleyball (in the mud), more pool time, family hayride, some laying around in our new chairs from Chad/Amber and family, some coloring with chalk and an evening walk before making our big dinner together. My parents decided to stay the night since the weather had turned out so nice and they put up Chad/Amber's tent and was able to stay for the fire for more food, drinks and lots, and I mean, lots of laughter! FUN FUN times. Abby headed home after listening to some funny stories and it was about time for us to hit the hay as well. We were all exhausted from the sun and most of us had gotten a sunburn somewhere.
It was nice to be able to sleep in on Sunday morning and each family took turns getting their father's day gifts together and to the #1 dads :) Ben got money - a baby photo of each of the kids with the same amount of money as their ages for each kiddo - something he needs for Canada, and a gift card to Wal Mart. Took the kiddos for another swim and came back for a corn hole tournament (Ben and dad were winners) as we started packing things away.
Ended the weekend with a quick stop for ice cream on the way out - another favorite at our Yogi campground!!

Basketball Camp

Gabi enjoyed basketball camp this past week and I was able to go and watch her final day. The girls were super excited to learn actual plays but Gabi's favorite thing to do was the obstacle course!

Fawn

Look what we found scampering across our culdesac this evening right around 6 pm ish...what a cutie!! Trenton and Ben corraled it back to the woods across from the development, hopefully back to it's mommy...
Been busy with basketball camp this week (Gabi), moving Trenton back home (couldn't find a place to stay this summer), Football practice (Tyler) and garage sale in my brother's neighborhood. I am exhausted...can I go back to Wisconsin Dells...back to last week????

In The Dells with the birthday boy and his family

Warning: This post contains ALOT of photos :)Celebrated my brother's birthday this week while we were vacationing in Wisconsin Dells!! We visited Mt. Olympus back in 2005 ish with my parents when we camped there and really liked the place (only was an outdoor amusement park with many go carts which we LOVE). Found it online and noticed they added water activities outdoors and indoors!! Couldn't pass up the opportunity when this past week was open for my brother and his family to join us. We originally had planned my parents going too, but work wouldn't allow it for my dad. Also couldn't pass up the GREAT deal of under $100 per night (2 queen beds and a set of bunks) with all activities included EVERY DAY!!! We decided to let Tyler bring a friend, which ended up being his gf, Abby, which worked out perfectly. We arrived on Tuesday and got right into our room by 1 pm...enjoyed the outdoor park as much as possible and had to visit a fave...Moosejaw Pizza for dinner!!! YUMMO!!! And we enjoyed "Night At The Park" where the park stays open later (til 9 pm)!!Wednesday we could not pass up Paul Bunyan for breakfast since it was a bit gloomy outside at first, but warmed up nicely by the time we were finished. Decided horseback riding would be a good way to finish out our morning before heading back to the hotel for more fun..this time we utilized the indoor water park - I think the kiddos enjoyed the indoor slides and activities a bit more inside than outside. Gabi really liked the wave pool outdoors though. Thursday was Chad's birthday and he had talked about going to Crabby's for his birthday dinner. He was apparently in the mood for seafood and this place had an all you can eat buffet. We used the outdoor park all morning and got in as many go cart rides as we could (Addy was my go cart buddy! We won every time ;) !!!) but the park became very crowded quickly with Wisconsin end of the year trips for school kids. Decided relaxing by the wave pool and kiddy area outside was the best bet until 3 pm when those school kids would be on their way. Ended up being a good choice, got some R & R in and was ready for Crabby's by dinner time. Again enjoyed the "Night at the Park" til 9 pm - Chad's kiddos at the indoor waterpark and Ben, Tyler, Abby, and Gabi got in their night ride of Hades rollercoaster (a couple times I must add). We definitely utilized the park and got our money's worth. We even fit in some shopping time downtown, at Aunt Jenny's and a short walk on the Riverwalk on Wednesday. Ben even tried some chocolate coated bacon...a fast seller at one of the Fudge shops downtown. Let's say it was NOT a big hit with any of us.
Left around noon on Friday and made a short stop to see Trenton and to show Chad/Amber North Central's campus, etc. Wanted to check in him to see how the house hunting was going. Grabbed a quick burger at Five Guys and headed back home...back to reality...not so fun, but home in our own beds...definitely a thumbs up. A good time for all and even talked of maybe doing it again next year....
