Christmas with the Reinoehls
We had Ben's brother and sister over to our house in the afternoon. Ben felt like he would like to have Christmas somewhere a bit different this year since his dad's presence would most definitely be missed...and it was. There was just a quiet bit of sadness for a little while as we began opening our gifts, but knowing both his parents were probably right there in that room with us made it a little better. Dave always likes to get everyone something to eat, something to wear and something fun...a good little motto to get gifts by and it's fun. He is especially into the Muze shirts...something he has done for quite some time now!! It's always fun to hear the kids figure out the movie from the quote on the shirt. Pam and Jeff got the boys some cool Touchdown Jesus shirts I know they love...Notre Dame was a big hit this year :)
Christmas Brunch
Had Christmas brunch at Chad and Amber's house around 10:30 am ish this year. Gave them some time to open as a family in the morning and continued the annual tradition of brunch with them. Always excited to see what their girls get for Christmas. They were especially excited because they got just what they asked for...American Girl Dolls. Love to see their smiling faces as they open their gifts. Always appreciative of everything they get. This year Presley made a special package for Gabi...she is so sweet!!! Loved watching Presley watch Gabi as she opened it. Lots of clothes, movies, games and gift cards for the older ones...lots of cute toys for the kiddos. Good times.

Christmas Morning
I can hardly sleep on Christmas Eve..in fact, I voiced that to Ben several times. I just love to see everyone open there gifts. There was some surprises (mostly me) and some given - what the kids asked for...but all in all, the boys were happy with what they got. Love the smiles on Christmas morning and the patience watching each one open a gift and taking turns. Just so happy we can all be together on Christmas Day.
Stockings are always checked out first...
A few of Trenton's faves this year...a Men's Bible with his name engraved, a Rip Hamilton jersey, an Undefeated ND t-shirt, and some Vans shoes...
Gabi's faves was probably her Ugg boots and some Pink (Victoria Secret) yoga pants...along with more clothes and One Direction stuff!
I got plenty of clothes and Ben surprised me with an Eco Citizen Watch!!! Never needs a battery! Very beautiful watch/bracelet combo...
Mostly I am just happy we take the time to watch each other open and that we are able to be together!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Christmas Eve
Another tradition, and if you follow my blog you would most likely already know... is Christmas Eve with the Jones side of the family at my parents' house. Food and family is what is looked forward to at this get together. Lots of laughs and just awesome memories are made there. Trenton bought maw maw an "Easy Button" from Staples. This has been an ongoing joke since he started working there. Great idea, Trenton!
Special Gifts - Family Tradition
Every year our little family of 5 will draw names and buy gifts and write a note to that person for Christmas. It usually is an inspiring note that most of the times draws some tears and some smiles. It is just a touching time for us to spend together. The gifts are usually something meaningful as well.
This year Daddy had Gabi (got her One Direction doll - as somewhat of a joke, a cool One Direction magazine and some cheer shorts)
I had Tyler...got him some pocketed Nike Dri Fit basketball shorts and Reeses Minis (his fave)
Tyler had Ben...got him Hot Apple Cider K Cups, two travel mugs and a cool camo Indiana shirt
Trenton had me...I got a Bears Mug and a book - The Shack
And Gabi had Trenton...got him Tuesdays with Morrie and two V Neck shirts.
All great gifts...but the words written to each other was even more meaningful. Love these family traditions!
