Thanksgiving

Much to be thankful for.  My people got up early and actually went to the Turkey Trot with me!  Ben and Gabi ran it again and we remembered to wear our turkey hats we got on clearance last year!  They were a big hit.  And Trenton even came to cheer us on!  I was sooo proud of Gabi.  She wanted to beat her time from last year and she did!  All three of us ran it together (didn't walk once which was one of Gabi's goals...even with the cramping she was having) and finished at the same time!  31:28 was our time!!!  So proud!!!  We left to come straight home and prepared to have family over for Thanksgiving.  Ben couldn't have said it better in his prayer....
"Let us always be thankful for who we are, what we stand for and for our family and friends."

Boys BBall Elkhart Memorial

The boys lost a close game to Elkhart Memorial in their season opener on Wednesday evening....let's just say the refs could have been alot better!

Preparing for Thanksgiving and Trenton!

Ben said it would be okay to put up our Christmas tree before Thanksgiving since we have tentative plans to head to NC sometime before Christmas, leaving one less weekend to decorate.  It was a welcome event...especially with Trenton coming home on Tuesday evening just in time to help!  It's always fun to reminisce about times past while putting up our ornaments.

Maizy Girl 12-11-02 to 10-26-17

This post is so late because I just haven't been able to go there.  I needed time to heal.  We had to put our Maizy girl down on October 26th.  We had come to terms with the fact that Maizy just was not "happy Maizy" anymore.  Her quality of life was poor and she deserved better.  It was such a hard decision, but one made as a family.  To this day, I have moments where I burst into tears from missing that sweet dog.  She would have been 15 on December 11th.  A great number of years and a great life she had.  Just wanted to post some pics of her from this past year and of course, prior to capture her true spirit.  She most certainly was our best friend, and loved her life with us.  I know for a fact that she will be waiting for us over that Rainbow Bridge...waiting for us one by one with a tennis ball.  Oh how we miss you, sweet friend.
