Christmas Day

God knew what He was doing when he gave us the first snowfall of the year today... a white Christmas. Ben and I enjoyed the morning together quietly. Fire in the fireplace and the snow coming down. Beautiful. We all tried to be extra intentional with our gifts this year. A couple special gifts to Ben this year was a picture blown up of his daddy and the big buck he shot that is on our wall downstairs. Ben hung the pic up immediately. Also a wallet with the lyrics from Luke Combs song “Better Together” in it. A song he calls ours. And a super special gift he got me was a collage of pics of us together in the past couple of years. Love love loved it. Gabi got most everything she wanted also and some extra. One good one was an Aerie sweatshirt that says “plant mom” which she loves also. Got together with the Brugh side in the afternoon for our gift exchange. It was so nice to catch up while being physically distanced yet in the same house. We’ve missed family so much. All in all, Christmas got better today as we took in everything the day had to offer.  Thank you God for reminding us all that your Son became a man so men could become Sons of God. Happy birthday, Jesus!

Christmas Eve

Because of covid we had to do things differently this Christmas Eve. We decided to go to church service at 4 pm and then have Tyler and his family over for our exchanges and dinner. We tried to make it feel like maw maw and paw paws house ... and it did somewhat but we still had that hole in our hearts from not all being together. My parents came over at gift time to watch the kids open. I’m just over covid taking time away from us. The vaccine should be ready in a couple months for my group and I’m ready. Ready to help get things back to somewhat normal. Until then ... enjoy the pics from our Christmas Eve that was just a little different.

Christmas Doings in 2020

As we are waiting for the vaccine to be distributed we are still unable to be together ... and that means over the holidays too unfortunately. I’m sad. I’m mad. But I can’t change this. I’m trying my darndest to accommodate and somehow make it a little better. We went out to Shipshewana to see the lights on Thursday. Got a special gift from the Marczenko family - an Apron with Lenny on the front and also gifted my first gift to Gabi that my mom and I made- a blanket of cheer shirts. Last evening we had a visit with Santa and caroled with the neighbors to our next door elderly neighbor, Mary Beth. Tyler made it over with his kids so they could see Santa. Visits with Santa are hard to come by these days of covid 19. And today we got as many family members as we could to go to my grandmas to carol for her also.  She is so precious and she loved it. Man I miss hugging my family.
