Covid and Memorial Day

Battling Covid this past week was not an easy feat. Gabi and Ben tested positive on Saturday evening we got back and I tested positive on Monday. We all experienced mild symptoms. Headache, congestion, cough, body aches and very tired seemed to be most prevalent. But then the diarrhea came on Thursday. I could be way off base but because I’ve been battling it since the Thursday we were in Mexico, I believe it’s some sort of parasite rather than the Covid diarrhea my doctor originally thought. I do feel a little better today, but it is a struggle to eat and I know for sure I’m dehydrated. I was able to pull it together for the Elkhart Memorial Day Parade with Ben and his work EQ Logistics. Ben also asked the babies to tag along in the parade since Eli loves big trucks. He rode in the semi with Ben and Lennox walked with me passing out candy. It was a short parade which worked out well for me. It was nice to get out in the nice weather. Feeling crummy is the worst on such a beautiful holiday weekend. I would have loved to spend time with the family. But the good news is I finally tested negative yesterday and Ben and Gabi were negative also by Friday. I masked up on Friday to see Maverick and it was awesome!!!

Cancun 2022

We stayed at the Villa Del Palmar in Cancun and loved every second. This was a rest and relax vacation and we did just that. Ben did book a fishing charter for Wednesday for 6 hours so Gabi and I did a massage at the Spa.
Ben caught a snook, barracuda and red snapper. He had a tarpon on but lost it. He had a great time with his guide Angel.
Gabi and I started in a steam room, did a freezing cold plunge and moved to two different jacuzzi tubs each warmer. Finished off with full body massage. So relaxing!  Couldn’t have asked for better weather. Dry and sunny each day in the mid to upper 80s. Friday ended up cloudy and just a bit of rain and windier but we were sunned out. We enjoyed the water aerobics each day with Adrian and Natalia. Adrian took a liking to Gabi since we participated each day…or because he just liked her looks lol. We paddle boarded on Tuesday while Ben kayaked to take pics. Gabi finally did the big inflatable on Friday morning. The food was definitely great and the entire staff was even better!  Resort was beautiful!  Even had one iguana that frequented the place in the afternoon. We would definitely go back again.  It was not too far from the marina to go to Isla Mujeres which we would try to do next time for sure. All in all, a good vacation!  Now for picture overload.
