Notre Dame vs. Vanderbilt

Ben ended up getting tickets for yesterday's ND game by accident...or misunderstanding.  We tried to sell them, no luck...so since it was such a beautiful day, we took Gabi to breakfast, ran out to sight in the guns for hunting season and headed out to the game.  Ran into Duane and Donnetta for a few minutes and found out there was going to be a flyover at today's game, which is always cool so we headed into the stadium to get ready for the game.  Couldn't have asked for better weather...lower 80's AND Notre Dame won...kind of gave us a scare in the second half, but we pulled it out!  All in all, a good day!!  And since I haven't posted in quite some time...here are some pics of Lennox, now just over 4 months old and started eating cereal in the evenings.  Tomorrow morning I get to start her eating it in the mornings too!  She's such a good baby.  Her smile makes even the worst day, seem happy!

Bethel Welcome Week

This past Sunday also kicked off Welcome Week at Bethel College.  Emma is actually staying on campus so Gabi and I went to check out her dorm before the Picnic and Welcome Activities started.  Warmed my heart that Gabi knew so many people already and was continuing to meet some fantastic others!  I cannot be more sure that Bethel is the place she is supposed to be for school the next four years!  She is gonna do AWESOME!  On the flip side we also had to say our farewells for now to Kylee who also moved in this past weekend.  That was a hard one....

Canada

Ben went to Canada last week with Aunt Annie, Uncle Jay and my uncle Jimmy (Aunt Carol's husband) this time.  Sounds like they had awesome weather...cool at night but nice during the day and of course, they came home with their limit of 4 walleye and 4 northern each.  Ben got quite a few pretty pictures - I was impressed!  Ben did get the largest walleye (25 inches) with the jighead I bought him for his birthday!!!!  He called it the "Cindy Special"

Birthdays with Friends

It seems like every year we get so busy with end of year activities that we find it harder to get together for Emma and Gabi's birthdays separately.  This year was no different but we finally made it happen last week while Ben was away in Canada...Olive Garden (like every year) it was and it was so good to get together and just talk for a while.  We are soooo very excited that they are going to be going to Bethel together!

UCA Camp

Gabi left for UCA Camp on Thursday...well, actually team camp on Tuesday.  The Bethel Cheer team stayed locally in a hotel to work on team stuff till then and headed to Wisconsin Dells for UCA Camp.  She's been in contact with me often and was excited that she could still do her running full twist before leaving.  Her stunt partner is definitely a plus too...a senior named Beau.  Gabi is super excited about that.  Sounds like she will pretty much be the lead flyer and she could not be happier!  She has been busy making friends also, which makes her mama happy.  Looking forward to seeing her back on Sunday.  Here are some pics she sent me...

Logan's Run

Got to run the Logan's Run (one of my favorite races locally) today ... ran it with Duane McClellan (Ben's co worker and friend).  His wife, and a friend of mine, Donnetta, walked it.  It was extremely hot and could not guarantee Duane I could help pace him to get in under 25 minutes.  He came close and I missed a PR this time...I came in 2nd in my age group (out of 25) with a time of 27:20.  Ben and Trenton came along to cheer us on!

Lennox

My new part time job....watching my grandbaby and step grandson.  It's been a busy summer, but I am enjoying seeing this smile every morning!  Hard to believe Lennox is 3 months old!  She looks so much like Tyler!

Friends

Sooooo, we decided to go out last Saturday evening to celebrate the fact that we have only adult children now....Mark and Danielle thought Uber would be the best way to go....and it was ;)
We checked out Jesus Latin Grill and Tequila Bar first (downtown Mishawaka) and then made our way to Strikes and Spares.  Great time!  We capped off the evening at The Phoenix in Mishawaka.  Didn't get home til 1:30am...but didn't even realize the time, thus meaning we had an awesome time!!  Looking forward to the next time!
