The Polar Express

Ben took the day off today and we took the grandbabies to The Polar Express at Union Station in Chicago. We got the earliest time but worked out perfectly. Made it to the city by 10:30 am our time so we navigated Union Station and let the babies walk around some. Got some lunch and headed for the North Pole. Ben and I were very pleased with the whole production.  Lennox knows the movie so well that she recognized the ghost guy who made an appearance. She looked at me and said “nana, he came down from the roof!”  The show was super interactive with all the kids and followed the book and movie perfectly. Definitely worth the price we payed!  Awesome memories made.  It truly touched my heart as we were making our way down the loading area where the train was. The conductors hanging out the window yelling, “all aboard” while the theme song for The Polar Express played in the background…Lennox looks at me and says, “nana, me so excited!”
The kiddos enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies on the ride too. Loved every minute!  Needless to say, they were out before we even got out of the city. We were home by 5 pm to tell mommy and daddy all about it.

Kitchen Complete

Finally completed somewhat of a makeover of our kitchen. Fixed a leak in the ceiling, new countertops and new appliances this past week. Santa came early!

Santa and Toys For Tots

Last weekend I took pictures for Ben and his place of employment as he dressed as Santa along with a co worker to deliver the toys they collected at EQ Systems for Toys for Tots

Thankful

Thankful. Grateful. Blessed.
Missed Pam and her crew. They opted to cook their first Turkey at home this year. Enjoyed having my brother and his crew though this year.  Caitlyn was unable to come because Lennox had a stomach bug so we FaceTimed her. Missed them greatly.  I am blessed.

Turkey Trot

Got the Turkey Trot in today!  The rain held off!  And we all ran together as a family. And we all RAN the entire time!  So proud of my crew and thankful that they take time to do something I enjoy with me on such a special day!  I challenged Ben to a sprint at the end to the finish line and he beat me. Buttt he’s feeling it tonight!

Tyler’s Buck

Tyler, Trenton and friend Brian Weldon have been hunting the farm down south on Foster’s farm pretty hard lately and it payed off this morning. Tyler shot an 8 point from his home made box blind he made. Persistence pays off for sure. Proud of him!
