Girls Weekend
With Ben in Canada this weekend and the weather perfect, Gabi and I couldn’t pass up a weekend at the camper. We left somewhat early on Friday so we could eat dinner at Two Bandits Brewery, which was delicious! Came back to the campground and just relaxed. Took a golf cart ride and called it an early night after we got our s’mores in. With Gabi having a kidney infection I knew it could be a quick getaway, depending on how she felt. We did decorate in the camper with some fall decor. But we were in bed by 10:30 pm Friday. Luckily, she woke up much better on Saturday. Lots of sunshine so we made the most of it. We kayaked, paddleboarded, took a long walk, got shaved ice, took golf cart rides, read some of our books, talked, made dinner together and afterward did our DIY take home Board and Brush (came with everything you need and instructions!) Got a fire started and had s’mores again and took a quick golf cart ride before showering to see what the DJ was all about. Lots of laugh, connection and fun this weekend. So glad Gabi wanted to do this with me!

Doctors and Emergency Room Visits
On Wednesday I had a visit to my NP, Susan Conn, who is actually leaving the practice in September and I had planned to discuss an issue with her at my next physical but she won’t be there. Because I wanted to talk with her about it, I scheduled a visit now. For about a year now I’ve been having trouble sleeping and the more and more I payed attention and the more time went on symptoms got worse. And when I say symptoms I mean the urge to move my legs. Like an electrical surge would wake me up and I would need to move my legs. Talking to my mom about it, I learned my mom and my grandma both suffer the same thing. My grandma to the point that she gets up to walk in the night. So I had a hunch it was Restless Leg Syndrome. At my doctor visit it was confirmed. So my NP put me on meds at night to see how I do. Hopefully I get some relief.
As for the ER visit…Thursday while I was at Reese’s soccer game I got a call from Gabi that her flank pain was worse (she was complaining of it before work) and felt she needed to go the ER in case she needed a CT. She was thinking either kidney infection or stones and the ER could do the CT if needed. She worked til 7 and headed to the Granger ER. Tests confirmed a kidney infection so she was given fluids for dehydration and meds for the infection. Glad she got it taken care of before our weekend at the camper - girls weekend 😃 which we both were looking forward to.
