Involvement

So far, Gabi has been pretty busy receiving some great community service news....she was accepted into the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (info from last year's council and a look at what she will probably be involved in this year). She also was voted in the Student Council at school this year (last week) and is volunteering at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. So proud of all she is going to be involved in this year. Many opportunities await this young woman! More to come this year!!!!

Labor Day Weekend - Mishawaka Promise 5K

Friday evening Mishawaka played Indianapolis Cathedral and lost. They started out strong but seemed to fall apart late in the first quarter. The game was preempted three times due to lightning and didn't get started until just after 9pm. That meant Gabi didn't arrive back until 3:30am. It was nice for her to be able to sleep in on Saturday. Sunday she trained for her volunteer job at St. Joseph Medical Center...and she is soooo excited. She will be working all floors of the hospital, talking with patients that have been in the hospital for more than 3 days. Doing a questionnaire of sorts. She can't wait to start this coming Saturday. Monday, Gabi had to get up bright and early to cheer on the 5K runners at the Mishawaka Promise and grand reopening of Central Park in Mishawaka. A nice community event the cheerleaders were involved in. It was definitely a hot one though!!! In the 90's and sunny.

A good win for the Cavemen last night. Glad we were able to go and watch Miss Gabi cheer. It was a late evening, but worth seeing her pretty smile!

Portage Game

The Cavemen won their first game against Portage last night...Gabi and the other cheerleaders looked awesome! So much better than last year. And their new uniforms with new pom poms - WOW!!! Adorbs!!!!!

Sophomore

Yesterday was the start to Gabi's Sophomore year....she told me to take a pic of her this year getting out of the car since she was alot more confident!!! As you can see here, freshman year was a different story. After getting her yesterday, she felt good about her classes and looking forward to today! Can't believe my baby is a Sophomore!

End of Summer Activities

So Gabi and Kylee got together last Friday and had an end of summer bonfire for some of their friends in their grade...

And on Monday (official last day of summer), Uncle Rusty and Aunt Julie actually took Gabi and I to The Stray Dog because we have not been there yet. We LOVED it and plan to go back!!!
