66-14 was the final score at the home opener Notre Dame vs. New Mexico. Got to go to the game with my honey today...beautiful day...not a cloud in the sky and upper 70s...almost too warm at times, but wow, great game!
Got to see a flyover too!

Game Day Chase
First time doing this race and it was a fun one! A 5K to benefit cancer research and before a Notre Dame Game - this year's home opener against New Mexico. Weather was great...in the upper 50s to start and lower 60s to end. And how fitting that Ben and I get to go into the game as well! Felt good doing this race...hopefully done with injuries...no PR this round, but placed fourth in my age group in at 27:17
And got to do it with my favorites by my side like always!

46 Is Just a Number
Yep...turned 46 yesterday. And spent the day with my favorite people...my family. Started the day off with Starbucks and a great message at church. Decided to take all the kids (and families) to lunch at Logan's and met my parents at Trenton's house for cupcakes afterward. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my day with anyone else. A good day, indeed.
Blueberry Festival
We opted to take Lennox to the Blueberry Festival on Saturday this year since the weather was pretty much supposed to be perfect...high in the 70's and cloudy. We picked her up for breakfast at OC Cafe and headed to the festival right when it opened. We were able to hit the pony rides first without a crowd, do some shopping, Gabi took her on some rides (she loved the carousel) and of course had to get her a "baby shark." We even stopped at the Safari Show on the way out. Ate lunch at Chick Fil A on the South Side on the way home and Lennox was down for the count on the way home. A great time with out sweet little Lennox. A good start to the weekend.

Weekly Happenings
I have told Ben since the beginning that I wasn't interested in a new bow until after I got a deer. He held me to that and we went up to Someplace to Shoot last week and ended up buying a new Missions Hamr. Purple Camo and wow, is it fast! Yes, I have been missing out! Picked it up all ready to go on Tuesday evening and I love it! I'm ready for the monster buck now!
Over the weekend we also took a little walk at Cobus Creek just down the road from us. I remember walking Maizy there with the boys and Gabi when they were younger and the place was just new but it was nice to see the improvements they have made and it was good to just be outside together for a bit. Keeping it in the back of my mind for a field trip with the littles perhaps. Speaking of the littles...here are some pics from this past week. We've spent several morning at my parents house using the pool which Madden has quickly taken a better liking to. They sure are growing fast!

Logan's Run
After dealing with an injury from tubing at Waffle Farms (my ribs) and then falling the week we got home on the bathroom floor (butt bone), I've been a little slow to train for the Logan's Run 10k. I signed up and actually promised Duane McClellan I would do it since it would be his first 10k. Wasn't my best, but I finished and sore at that. 59:09 was my time here and didn't even place in my age group, but it feels good to have that muscle ache saying you worked hard. We ended up taking Duane and Donnetta up to Sylvan Lake (a lake where Donnetta grew up on and wanted to visit for memories' sake) and did some fishing. Caught some bluegill and a couple bass but mostly caught some good times with friends. Ate dinner at Coody Brown's Bar and Grill right on the water at a nearby lake down the road on the way home. It was a good day.
