Brandon & Lexi

SOOO excited that we were able to attend cousin Brandon and Lexi's wedding this weekend in Milwaukee.  It is something we have looked forward to for quite a few months now.  To say it was beautiful would be an understatement.  The venues were amazing and the atmosphere...just a FUN time.  Their friends and family are something to be cherished.  The wedding was held at Old St. Mary's Church and the Reception - at the Grain Exchange.   Both breathtakingly beautiful.  We loved that we were greeted at our hotel with a small package containing the schedule of events, a Starbucks gift card and some Tylenol for our "tired, dancing feet."  So cute. Gabi thought it was extra cool that we took a taxi from the hotel to the church.  The weather was gorgeous and perfect.  Lexi looked spectacular in her dress and it was touching to see her tear up during the ceremony.  She is truly a geniune person.  So glad she is part of the family now.

Walking back from the church to the hotel gave us the opportunity to scope out some of downtown Milwaukee.  Ben and I both agree we liked it alot...it gives the feel of a big city, namely Chicago, without the chaos.  Not as busy.  Clean.  Gabi, Presley, Addy and Reese all had a great time watching all the girls in their dresses, etc. at the wedding. And they loved dressing up themselves!  Everyone cleans up very well!!! :)

 

The Reception really allowed Lexi and Brandon's personalities to come to life.  So many personable things...from the M&M's (favorite of Lexi's) to the pudding shots (one for each person giving a toast to the bride and groom).  Such an intimate gathering. 

We knew we were in for a fun evening when the DJ announced the wedding party (at the start of the Reception), each coming down the stairs dancing, and after Brandon and Lexi were presented, they signaled for EVERYONE to get on the dance floor to dance to "I Got  A Feeling" - and EVERYONE did!!!  The dance floor was packed surrounding the bride and groom.
Dinner was yummy!!!  Loved the hor d'oeuvres - especially the bruschetta and crab cakes!!!  The main course was either halibut or ribs.  Eveyone in our family opted for ribs of course :)
Some faves of mine from the Reception included the dancing...no slow songs (except for the first few dances for the bride/groom and their parents)...party atmosphere only.
