Resolutions

Yes, it is that time again...every year I make a list of resolutions and only 50% of the time I actually follow through...why is that? I would have to say because I am like most people and make huge resolutions that aren't attainable. This year I thought about it...I will make resolutions I CAN uphold. I will make easy resolutions, ones that will make me feel better about myself and my family - that I will actually enjoy. I read somewhere once that you have to repeat something 45-60 times before it becomes a habit. That's not too bad...a month and a half. So, here it goes...
1. Start running again...I used to run 9 miles a week! I got so good it would only take me 30 minutes to run 3 miles...I'd love to get started on that regimen again. I felt better and had more energy through the day. I have decided to get some new Sauconys (my old ones have hit the dust) and go for it!
2. Tell Ben and the kids everyday that I love them. I know, you're thinking, don't you do that already, that's so easy...well, it's not. With everyone going in all different directions and life moving at an extraordinary pace, it is something that easily gets put on the backburner. I will work hard to do it everyday this year.
3. Read more in the Bible. I love those Our Daily Bread magazines you pick up at church. It makes devotions simple. It doesn't take alot of your time but it is a meaningful opportunity between you and God. I am looking forward to starting again.
These three things I think will help my body, mind, and spirit and keep me in tune with the coming year - Simple things that I CAN DO and I won't falter. Simple is the key...Welcome 2007!
