Gabi did the Long Jump (3.85m) and the 100m (14.30) dash for JV yesterday at her first High School Track Meet against Riley and Northwood. Unfortunately, she didn't place in either events.
She also ran the 200m dash (30.10) but didn't place, and the 4 x 100m relay (54.30) which took first place!! What I loved was watching the team say a prayer before their race...love the bonding of this track team and their coach - Mr. Kowalewski!

Celebrated Easter with my entire family because Trenton came home to make his first purchase - a new car!!! A 2013 Toyota Carolla to be exact. And it is sharp!!! Congratulations to this man!
He stayed overnight afterwards to come to church with us and it was sooo appreciated. We enjoyed a nice lunch with my parents at Olive Garden before Trenton headed home. A nice weekend.
Last weekend we found a car for Gabi. She has been eyeing PT Cruisers or Jeep Wranglers. Had to find the perfect blend of age of car, mileage, shape of car and of course- cost. It all came together after my parents found this beaut on Craig's List in Goshen. A 2001 with only 78,000 miles. Gabi is in love and is counting down the days til she gets her license.
Can't believe my baby girl is "sweet sixteen" - we celebrated with family last night. She got all she wanted. Cash, cash and more cash...and some extras for Spring Break (Florida)...

We took Gabi out to her favorite place to eat on her actual birthday (the 8th) - Red Lobster. And one of her best friends came along...Kylee. She got her most favorite food (crab) and she received her gifts from us...a new Michael Kors Wallet and some Ray Bans for her Spring Break trip. Oh, and a cute little keychain for her car keys...yes....that's a coming.

Decided to run the Sarah Strong 5K at the last minute (last week)...weather was looking good and found out Gabi would not be attending the track meet today. So...decided, what the heck...
The course was nice...no steep hills like the Turkey Trot, but I didn't beat my best time. I ran this alone for the first time so I was a bit nervous but did okay. Wasn't my best time, wasn't my worst time...finished out at 30:06. Placed 4th in my overall age group. Will be a run to consider next year depending on the weather for sure. All proceeds went toward the American Cancer Society...specifically for children with cancer. Something close to my heart for sure. Even saw Christy Stose there running her first 5K!
