Another Game Ball

Tonight Lennox got the game ball!  So proud of this sweet girl!  

Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Started out a rainy cold day. But Trenton and my parents met me to watch the parade in Mishawaka. My parents had offered to make burgers and hot dogs, Mac and cheese, baked beans and I made watermelon stars - a full summer like menu hoping for a nice sunny day. Ended up cloudy and colder so we didn’t do any swimming. But it was good to be together. Even used the free lawn checker set I grabbed up for free.  Had to do it inside, but was fun!  Tyler ended up the clear winner.

Mishawaka Pocket Park

Finally got down to the new little pocket park right outside the building I work in…City Hall. Trenton met me for lunch today at Scoobies right around the corner and he took my pic here. This cute little area was actually planned by the Mayors Youth Council this year and the ribbon cutting was just a week ago. Such a cute little spot downtown.

Gunnar turned 11 today!  I made him a pup cake this morning and Gabi spoiled him all day long. I love this boy so much!

“Y’all, let me tell you. They aren’t lying when they say “a dog is man’s best friend.”  This boy knows all my secrets, my heartaches, my triumphs, my worries, my dreams. He has listened to me laugh, rant and cry. Sometimes I wish he could talk. I’m sure he would have plenty to say. Instead he always looks at me and just lets me pet him. He’s been a comfort to me more times than I can count. We always joke he is my fourth child and service dog. I love this boy with my whole heart. And he’s 11 today!  So I got up and just like every year I made him his “pup cake” and I lit the candles and I sang to him. And he humors me by letting me put his “birthday boy” bandana on him for a pic. Happy birthday Gunnar!!!  You’ve been a literal Godsend to me over the years. Love you, sweet boy! You best believe we will be out getting pup cups all weekend long!!!”

 

Kindergarten Graduation

Lennox graduated Kindergarten today and it’s Eli’s 5th birthday. I wasn’t able to go but Gabi went and took pics and videos for me. All these kids in Mrs Flemings meant so much to me this year. Being able to sub in her classroom for most of the year enabled me to get to know a lot of them. So proud. 

Blessed

Not going to lie, 2024 started out as one of the worst years thus far. But I’m still here and I’m still thankful for the ones I love the most and for the ones who love me and have stayed. I’ve been wanting all of my kids to come to church with me for Mothers Day for many years. For some reason or another, it would never happen. This year Tyler and Caitlyn have been attending New Life Church and I asked if I could come with them. Everyone came along!  Including my parents and it made my day. I am one blessed mom. And 2024 is NOT going to beat me. Not on my watch.
