Sunburst 5K

Beautiful weather for a 5K this morning at 7 am-60s and sunny.  Gabi and her bestie, Journei, ran it with me and motivated me the entire way!  Finished at 33:17 (2 minutes shorter than last year) and 11th out of 50. Mike Hummer came over last night to tape my knee and it helped tremendously.  Definitely not the runner I once was, but it feels good to get back after it every now and again.  And my parents and Trenton were there to cheer us on. 

Grateful for my tribe.  I can't say that enough.  They are my everything.  

Memorial Day

Today could not have been a more beautiful day! Upper 70s and sunny.  Perfect for a parade to start off the day.  I helped with the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council at the start and met up with my parents, aunt Carol and Trenton next to my dad's banner so I grabbed a quick photo.  After the parade we met Tyler and the kids, Trenton and Gabi (she got to be on call until 3 pm so she was able to come too) at my parents' house for a cookout - the normal Memorial Day grub...hot dogs, brats and hamburgers, mac & cheese, baked beans, watermelon and lots of sweets.  Lennox was the first one in the pool this year!  She went in fully clothed too!  I enjoyed spending the afternoon with everyone.  Ending this weekend with a full heart.

Gunnar is 13, Eli turned 7

This weekend was full of birthdays.  Eli turned 7 yesterday and we celebrated today at their house.  He is growing up too fast!  One of the gifts he asked me for was a picture of Gunnar.  So I obliged!  And how fitting...celebrating Eli's birthday on Gunnar's 13th birthday!  We spoiled this dog well today!  I made him dog cupcakes and he had his eggs in the morning per usual.  After Eli's party, Gabi and I took him to Dairy Queen for a pup cup.  I can't imagine this life without my little buddy.  I know it is inevitable one day, but for now, I am enjoying every moment with my best fur pup!  Here is to a great weekend celebrating some pretty amazing boys - Eli and Gunnar :)

Golf Outing, Baseball Games and Bluebirds

 Started the weekend off with Mayor Wood's Golf Outing for his campaign on Friday.  It was the biggest yet and Gabi had the day off so she was able to come and hang out!  Had two games at the baseball park on Saturday.  Eli's team played a team that was undefeated as well and lost by one run.  Definitely will be seeing that team for playoffs and they are definitely beatable.  Lennox had a hit and run to first base both times.  So proud of the kiddos.  They seem to enjoy baseball/softball.  Spent the evening with John and met his chinchilla, Aegon.  Super cute.  Plan to take Gabi and Caitlyn to Board and Brush today - pics to come.  It was a beautiful weekend.  Got my flowers planted also on Friday evening and trimmed up the tree in the front.  Also got some weeding done and restaining of the porch posts.  I still enjoy sitting on the front porch on the rocking chairs with coffee when it is nice outside.  I'm so read for summer.  This year I have bluebirds in the far house without the camera so I'm not able to see them.  I spent most of the spring tearing out sparrow nests in the house with the camera.  I think they finally gave up so maybe I'll get a bluebird in there for the second part of the nesting season.
