Gabi and Madison were recognized by the School Board last night at their meeting.
Love this pic of Madison peeking around for the picture!!
Congrats again for winning first place at National History Day for their documentary!

Spring Please!
Last week was the official start of Spring and I have seen lots of robins and heard lots of chirping in the morning but the weather just doesn't seem to be cooperating. This weekend was a lazy weekend. The boys are back to school now ready to start their last leg of the school year so it was quieter. Gabi decided to have a "spa night" with her friend, Brooke. She asked me to get facial masks and cucumbers for their facials. Crazy girls :) But I am loving every minute of this!
Sunday we got a good sermon at church. They really have been touching lately. So blessed to have found a church that we all enjoy. Watched some March Madness and suffered a slight heart attack watching the Hoosiers play a close one. Gabi was able to go to open gym at ICE. She was so glad to get back into gymnastics. I know she is looking forward to April Skill Building there next month. And cheer tryouts again for next year coming up.
But look what we woke up to...yes, the background is white and that IS snow. I woke Gabi up this morning singing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." She was not cheerful. Needless to say, we are just so tired of snow. SOOOO ready for Spring. These are beautiful Daffodils though, that I picked up for Daffodil Days (American Cancer Society).
2 days. I can do this.

"Hustle Award"
Last night was the Girls Basketball Banquet/Awards. The girls voted on certain awards with "Hustle Award" being one of them. Gabi and Kara had split votes and absolutely deserving for the both of them! I have to say Coach Chad said some nice things about Gabi when giving her the award too. Very proud of these girls and so glad for the opportunity to have Chad coach Gabi this year. It was neat to see the coach/athlete interaction between them at games. And to have the team end up Big 11 Runner Ups - great season!!!

Early Easter and Maw Maw's Birthday
Got to celebrate Maw Maw's 61st birthday with her today after church at Olive Garden...always a favorite for us kids and grandkids. Since the boys were both home for their Spring Break they got to go to church with us, have lunch and along with the birthday, we celebrated an early Easter (since Chad/Amber and family and our family will be gone over Spring Break). Maw maw and Paw paw did good hiding the kids' eggs. A fuzzy rabbit for the girls, lots of candy and of course some spending cash for vacation. Maw maw and Paw paw are always so good to them (and us)!! Red velvet cake to finish off the day for maw maw's birthday made the day even more special. So glad Trenton and Tyler were able to be here to help us celebrate!

Big 11 Runner Up Champions
The girls fought hard in the Championship game today against Discovery. In fact, the girls led most of the first half, with Gabi making 1 free throw point and a 2 point basket right before half time. Unfortunately, bad passing and bad refs caused our lady Jags to pull out of the lead and lost the game 31-40. Gabi had a good season and really enjoyed playing for her Uncle Chad.
We couldn't have been more proud of how well Gabi plays, especially with no off season trainings. A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to support Gabi throughout the season...Uncle Jay and Aunt Annie, Maw Maw and Paw Paw, Aunt Amber and girls, Uncle Dave, Uncle Rusty and Aunt Julie even made the Championship game and Trenton and Tyler were able to sneak in a game too! Knowing she has the support makes her even more proud to be playing sports and doing well at it.

Road to Championship Game
The lady Jags beat Northside in the Semi Final game last night 40-15. It was dead even at half 11-11 and they came out with a vengeance. Gabi got some good play time and got 4 free throw points and one 2 point basket. Below is a video of her making one free throw, missing the second, BUT following through and making a 2 point basket immediately after. Great job girls!! Next up...Championship game against Discovery at Northside Gym tomorrow morning. Gabi is most excited because her biggest brother will be able to watch! Go Jags!
Celebrating their victory!

Tournament Game #2 Concord
Gabi's second Tournament Game was last night against Concord and they won 44-15!! Gabi had a 2 point shot and we were very impressed with how the team came together. They really are playing much better than during the season. Especially as a team.
Next up...Northside tomorrow evening. We beat Northside during the season so we have high hopes at getting to the Championship round on Saturday...BUT, like I always tell gabi...live by Coach Curtis' motto "Go 1-0 today!"
Go Lady Jags! Below...Gabi's basket last night :)
