Sienna Heights Regionals 2019

Gabi competed with Bethel today at Sienna Heights (Adrian, Michigan).  Unfortunately, a teammate ended up with a concussion just a day before competing so the team had to alter the performance last night last minute at their hotel.  The competition featured 11 teams (7 smaller ones dropping out) so Bethel was one of two smaller teams competing.  This, I wish they would change.  After speaking with Coach Alyssa about how it all worked...would love to put my two cents in on changes that need to be made, but considering it is only the third year for NAIA Competition Cheer, I am sure there will be changes made eventually.  Bethel ended the season 10th in the Region, but I am so incredibly proud of how this team fought through this last couple of months.  From NAIA eligibility issues and not having enough team members to illness/injury...Gabi surely kept her spirits up and for that I am grateful.  She did a great job and I am happy for her.  We even think she will try out for All American next year...something she should have done this year, but just didn't figure it out in time.  Glad the competition was broadcast online for family to watch as well.  We appreciate all of our family's support too!

Saint Francis Invitational

The competition team went to Saint Francis last evening and competed again aganist IWU and St. Francis.  It is difficult competing against such big teams but we are thankful for the experience AND we also had a full set of cheerleaders so no deductions for that!  We earned a 64.8 as a best score.  Not too shabby!
Of course, we came in third overall.
