Last night was the first boys basketball game and the girls had a great time cheering!

Last night was the Girls Basketball Banquet/Awards.  The girls voted on certain awards with "Hustle Award" being one of them.  Gabi and Kara had split votes and absolutely deserving for the both of them!  I have to say Coach Chad said some nice things about Gabi when giving her the award too.  Very proud of these girls and so glad for the opportunity to have Chad coach Gabi this year.  It was neat to see the coach/athlete interaction between them at games.  And to have the team end up Big 11 Runner Ups - great season!!!

The girls fought hard in the Championship game today against Discovery.  In fact, the girls led most of the first half, with Gabi making 1 free throw point and a 2 point basket right before half time.  Unfortunately, bad passing and bad refs caused our lady Jags to pull out of the lead and lost the game 31-40.  Gabi had a good season and really enjoyed playing for her Uncle Chad. 

We couldn't have been more proud of how well Gabi plays, especially with no off season trainings.  A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to support Gabi throughout the season...Uncle Jay and Aunt Annie, Maw Maw and Paw Paw, Aunt Amber and girls, Uncle Dave, Uncle Rusty and Aunt Julie even made the Championship game and Trenton and Tyler were able to sneak in a game too!  Knowing she has the support makes her even more proud to be playing sports and doing well at it. 

Road to Championship Game

The lady Jags beat Northside in the Semi Final game last night 40-15.  It was dead even at half 11-11 and they came out with a vengeance.  Gabi got some good play time and got 4 free throw points and one 2 point basket.  Below is a video of her making one free throw, missing the second, BUT following through and making a 2 point basket immediately after.  Great job girls!!  Next up...Championship game against Discovery at Northside Gym tomorrow morning.  Gabi is most excited because her biggest brother will be able to watch!  Go Jags!

Tournament Game #2 Concord

Gabi's second Tournament Game was last night against Concord and they won 44-15!!  Gabi had a 2 point shot and we were very impressed with how the team came together.  They really are playing much better than during the season.  Especially as a team. 

Next up...Northside tomorrow evening.  We beat Northside during the season so we have high hopes at getting to the Championship round on Saturday...BUT, like I always tell gabi...live by Coach Curtis' motto "Go 1-0 today!"

Tournament Game #1

Our first game in the tournamnet was against Grissom.  What a great game the girls had!  Gabi had a total of 3 points (one two point and one free throw - one was not counted because of a lane violation)! 
Brooke and friends made a special sign for Gabi and some of the other players.  Tyler, Presley and Addy all took turns holding it up for her. 

But what made Gabi's game...having her big brother there.  She was so glad Tyler was able to see her and she was extra glad she had some scoring!  The ending score 39-3

Great game girls!  Game #2 is against Concord this evening.  Results to be posted :)
