Turning 43 was easy.  Ben took the day off to spend with me since he took off to Austin for the first Notre Dame game of the season.  He, Tyler and Gabi gave me their big gift the night before my birthday...a beautiful bouquet of flowers and two tickets to the Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions game on October 2nd.  Super excited about our first pro football game!  Let's hope the Bears pull out a w since they have not been looking so hot for preseason.
Thursday morning we took off to New Buffalo to just walk the streets - my original plan was to check out some antique stores but both of them I was interested in were actually closed!!!  So we took in some cutesy shops along the lake and then ate lunch at The Stray Dog.  Loved sitting rooftop and looking at the lake...weather was perfect...bluebird skies and in the 70's.  A welcome change from the heat we have been having lately.  Since the antique stores were a no go, we headed to Bass Pro Shops for a quick look.  Grabbed me some hunting boots and we took off for home.  Last stop...Gigi's Cupcakes.  I thought it would be nice if everyone got a cupcake of their own liking to help me celebrate.  When I got home the "birthday flag" was hung and a cake from West End was on my counter.  Thank you mom and dad!!!
