Waffle Farms 2026

 This year we went up on July 5 and caught the fireworks that Waffle Farms put on!  It was fabulous per usual!  Lasted 30 minutes and we had front row seats at the Faulkner Cottage.  This year Tyler and his family stayed there, my parents across the street and my aunt Carol just a couple sites down.  Trenton, Gabi and I stayed in Craig Cottage down the road, but we were all in the campground.  Uncle Russ and Aunt Julie stayed in their usual rental house.  The weather could not have been much better.  We did our family dinner on Tuesday with Uncle Kenny and Aunt Sharon coming up that day to spend on the lake.  Thursday was a bit cloudy, and it sprinkled maybe a couple times, but honestly, we could have gone out on the lake and been fine.  The break was nice though.  Luke/Ryan and Brandon and his family left on Thursday (they stayed Sunday to Thursday) so we ended the fishing competition on Thursday.  Trenton and Tyler took Brandon out fishing on Thursday morning and Brandon ended up catching the biggest fish for adults - a 22" Northern Pike and Lennox caught the largest fish for the kids - a 13" largemouth bass.  It was nice to spread the love around. Thursday evening Gabi's new bf, Sam joined us and on Friday, Trenton's gf, Joanna was able to come as well.  We ate at the Willows on Wednesday evening as a family, got ice cream on Friday evening and then we did a pizza night on Saturday evening after a long day on the sand bar.  Also got in an evening ride on Saturday.  A perfect way to end the vacation.  Notes for next year - talked about bringing our old movies to set up and watch (Uncle Rusty has them), also need a crockpot and an outdoor trash can for our cabin.  All in all, a great vacation.  I did not want to come back.  It was in the 80's and at least partly to mostly sunny all week with just a few sprinkles on Thursday.  Also, a fantastic note to add.  We celebrated Trenton's one year sober on Wednesday.  So much to be thankful for.  I love my family and I love this tradition.
